HEC GORNA ARDA ANNOUNCES WINNERS IN THE ANNUAL PUPILS’ CONTEST IN ARDINO MUNICIPALITY
11.12.2015For the fifth consecutive year Hydro Power Company Gorna Arda, assigned to design, construct and operate the hydro power cascade of the same name, organized for the pupils of Ardino Municipality a festive contest. The children put their creativity into making posters themed ‘Welcome to the Rhodopes. The Natural Resources of My Homeland’. As in the preceding contests, lots of children took part and showed great imagination in their works. About 80 children from the schools in Ardino Municipality entered the contest with over 65 original posters, of which a selection committee from the company distinguished 17 works.
In the three age categories the awarded first place were: Mitko Kisyov (8th grade), Valeria Ivanova (6th grade) and Emre Bekir (2nd grade) from Vassil Levski School in Ardino, as well as Bayram Selim (1st grade) and Fikret Mehmedov (2nd grade) from A. S. Makarenko School in Borovitsa village and Meriyan Esadova (7th grade) from Sv. Sv. Kiril i Metodiy School in Gorno Prahovo village. Second place won Sali Hayrula (8th grade) from A. S. Makarenko School in Borovitsa village, Yoana Pavlova (7th grade) from Otets Paisiy School in Zhaltusha village and Panar Myumyun (2nd grade) from Vassil Levski School in Ardino. Third place was awarded to Sonya Simova (12th grade) and Semir Halilov (2nd grade) from Vassil Levski School in Ardino, as well as Elif Mehmedova (6th grade) from A. S. Makarenko School in Borovitsa village.
Impressed by the art merits of the posters and their patriotic spirit, this year the selection committee gave also six special awards: for creativity, for original idea, for teamwork and for tribute to ancestors.
The contest winners were announced at a celebration held at the Rodopska iskra community center in Ardino on Dec. 11, 2015. The prizes were given out by a representative of HEC Gorna Arda in the presence of Mr. Bahar Redzhebov, Head of ‘Education, culture and sports’ Department at Ardino Municipality. After the official part, by tradition, the Drama and Puppet Theatre of Kardzhali performed for all contest participants the spectacle ‘Christmas Gift’.
