EVN Bulgaria is a part of the big EVN AG Group – a leading Austrian company, working in the field of utility services. EVN AG is a dynamically developing company with stable positions on the European energy market. Its shares are listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange.
The EVN Bulgaria Group was created after the privatization of electricity companies in the beginning of 2005. In the beginning it encompassed business activities in the field of electricity distribution and trade in South-Eastern Bulgaria. Since December 2007 EVN Bulgaria has operated also in the field of heating supply in the cities of Plovdiv and Assenovgrad, and since 2009 the company has started realizing projects in the sphere of renewable energy sources.
From 2005 until the end of 2011 EVN Bulgaria invested more than 900 million BGN in improvement of infrastructure and services provided to clients. In year 2011 the company’s investments in improvement of supply and quality of service exceeded 220 million BGN.
ENV AG is a company with long-term plans for Bulgaria, intending to invest in the country’s economy. The construction of Gorna Arda cascade is a priority for EVN, as it provides an opportunity to cooperate with Bulgaria’s largest energy company – the National Electricity Company – a partnership for constructing a project, long-awaited by the inhabitants of the Rhodope region.
